Something that people can hang onto, something for somebody who’s willing to offer their last dredges of hope to a phenomenon that’s based on faith and nothing else. Or some grand plan, or some curse, or something of the like. He supposes that reminder, for other people, is that life in and of itself is an infinite chain reaction of a series of movements. It feels like a reminder of something, though he isn’t sure what. The nullity he feels staring at the night sky, counting stars that don’t ever seem to end and thinking of planets light years away that he doesn’t expect to ever really see up close is too real. Obviously he knows that there are things that are so much bigger than him more intricate and complicated than he’ll ever be able to comprehend. Feeling without actually touching, knowing without actually hearing or directly being told, believing in something that you can’t actually see. Or any of the typical terms with an ‘-ous’ suffix used to describe somebody that liked to fill the gaps in their life with things that were based on some sixth sense.
One thing to know about Keith is he isn’t superstitious.
(See the end of the work for more notes.) so i hope you like their dialogue lolĪnyway, if you’ve read my soulmate fic, i promise i’m still working on it, but please enjoy what i’ve written in the meantime <3 also i tried to slightly change their dynamic in this fic compared to how I wrote it in my first fic, partially cause this takes place around the season 1/season 2 timeline (despite not really being canon compliant lol) but also because i feel like i previously made them really soft? with eachother? when the whole reason i like their dynamic in the first place is because of their banter. but most realistically the last chapter will be posted in late September/early October.
i just really like that story and i don’t want to possibly taint it with Bad Ideas so i’m taking my sweet time writing it.
this isn’t anything special but I hope whoever comes across it manages to enjoy it anyways <3 also to anyone who may have read any of my other fics and who’s waiting on me to finish my soulmate fic :)))) i have no idea when i’m going to complete that tbh. I’m literally so excited to post this fic because i’ve had this idea for weeks, and it’s based off my favorite book saint anything by sarah dessen.
